Meet Our Authors  

Ellen Baumler is the interpretive historian at the Montana Historical Society. She is an author of the popular new Montana Place Names from Alzada to Zortman. Watch for her next book, Montana Moments: History on the Go, forthcoming in Summer 2010.

Clair Baiz (www.wedgeblog.net) is a Great Falls native, jeweler and freelance writer who attended the University of Montana and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in history and political science from the College of Great Falls. She travels between Great Falls and New York City.

A love for words and pictures led Kay Bjork to a career as a feature writer and photographer for numerous newspapers and magazines. Her home and family on Swan Lake have been the subject of many of her stories and photographs about their outdoor adventures including skating, skiing and hiking.

Anastasia Burton was raised in north central Montana. She has worked in communications and public relations for 20 years. She lives in Helena, MT.

Michele Corriel is a freelance writer living and working in the Sallatin Valley. HEr work is a s varied as the life she's led, from the rock/art venues of New York City to the rural backroads of Montana. Published regionally and nationally, Michele has received a number of awards for her non-fiction as well as her poetry. Her first book will be out in 2010.

Laura Crotty is from New York City where she worked as a freelance writer and culinary professional. She now resides in Montana with her husband and three children and contributes regularly to several publications.

Diane D. Edwards farms with her two brothers on the north edge of Chouteau County, where she labors as a freelance science writer in-between farm chores.

Sherm Ewing is a retired rancher who has published two books: "The Range" (1990) and "The Ranch" (1995), Mountain Press Publishing Co., Missoula.

Sydne George is a recipe developer, food writer and food photographer who enjoys sharing her latest creations with husband Mike, and daughters, Mackenzie and Madison.

Kevin Hamlin is a Certified Sommelier and Certified Wine specialist who works as a fine wine and beer sales representative for George's Distributing in Helena, MT.

Amy Joyner is a Montana native who has been writing news articles for 20 years. Her specialties are real estate, history and economics.

Tom Kotynski is a a retired Great Falls Tribune associate editor.

Writers and photographers Craig & Liz Larcom cover travel and the outdoors for national, regional and state magazines. They live in Great Falls, MT.

Carleen Milburn documents the landscape, art, and people of the West for national and regional publications. She lives with her husband on a small ranch in the Missouri River Valley.

Cathy Moser is a freelance writer living in central Montana's Judith Mountains.

Dwayne Nelson lives in Augusta with his wife Diane. His hobbies are gardening, cooking and photography.

Shawn Schumacher was born and raised on a farm and ranch in north central Montana. She has an unbridled zeal for story telling and likes adventure.

Neale Streeks has been a Montana River Outfitters guide for 30 years. He's had five books and numerous magazine articles published.

A life-long interest in communications made Suzanne Waring first a college instructor and then a writer. She lives in Great Falls and writes abuot Montana people and their communities.

Melanie White is a freelance writer who divides her time between Jackson Hole, Wyoming and New York City.
